Our Fresno Office Offers Affordable Family and General Dental Services

At Dr. Nivedita Nijhawan, DDS, we provide these dental care services to patients of all ages:

New Patient Exam

All our new patient and routine exams include a thorough discussion of your medical history, low-exposure diagnostic X-rays (if needed), a comprehensive clinical evaluation, individualized diagnosis, and treatment planning. During your appointment, Dr. Nijhawan will also check your head and neck area for any abnormal findings (discolorations, lumps, etc.) and perform an intra-oral examination of your teeth, gums, and soft tissue structures.

Preventive Care Visits

Periodic checkups help you maintain good oral health by stopping gum disease and other issues before they start. Regular exams that include diagnostic images and professional teeth cleanings are the cornerstone of prevention.

Under the watchful eye of Dr. Nijhawan, our licensed hygienist and other trained professionals will provide you with detailed instructions on how to improve your at-home oral hygiene. At that time, a member of our team may also recommend an additional preventative treatment – for example, sealants.

Restorative Services

For your convenience, we offer a wide array of restorative treatments that include the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal (gum) disease, tooth-colored fillings, partial or full dentures, Cerec (same-day) crowns, and more. Our state-of-the-art office also allows us to provide more advanced dental treatments such as root canal therapy (RCT), teeth whitening, dental implants, and orthodontics.

Fresno Cosmetic Dentist

Cosmetic Dentistry

Unlike preventative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry is focused on improving the appearance of the teeth, mouth, and smile using the latest diagnostic and treatment procedures. Examples of cosmetic dental procedures that Dr. Nijhawan performs include veneers, crowns, dental implants, teeth whitening, and orthodontics (Invisalign).

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is perhaps the most commonly recommended cosmetic procedure that we offer. When your teeth get stained from smoking, poor oral hygiene, food, or drinks, our professional bleaching solutions can make your smile’s appearance look brighter, healthier, and more natural within a matter of weeks.

Smile Makeover

A smile makeover involves a comprehensive assessment of your smile’s aesthetics with the overall goal of improving its appearance. Based on your consultation with Dr. Nijhawan, she may recommend one or more cosmetic procedures that involve several teeth in both the upper and lower arches.

Sleep Apnea

Sleep Apnea

Loud snoring, daytime sleepiness, chronic fatigue, and irritability could be signs that you have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Left untreated, OSA can place you at higher risk when you already have another chronic disease or illness. At Dr. Nijhawan, DDS, we specialize in sleep apnea treatments that help our patients sleep better – and healthier – at night.

Oral Sedation

Oral Sedation

For those with dental anxiety, we offer in-office minimal oral sedation that is intended to make the patient feel sleepy, relaxed, and pain-free without losing consciousness or experiencing changes in breathing. As a safe and effective sedation method, determining if you are a candidate for minimal oral sedation requires a prior consultation that includes your medical history.

Orthodontic Treatment

Orthodontic Screenings and Treatment

If crooked or misaligned teeth are holding you back, it’s never too late to get the straight, beautiful, natural-looking smile that you’ve always wanted. From orthodontic screenings for children, teens, and adults to Invisalign clear plastic aligners, our teeth-straightening solutions help patients of all ages smile with confidence again!

Emergency Dental Service

Emergency Dental Service

A dental emergency is any oral health problem that requires immediate attention to stop persistent bleeding, save a tooth, or relieve significant pain. Dr. Nijhawan and our staff specialize in prompt and reliable, in-office urgent care services that support the immediate health and wellbeing of our patients.

Replacing Missing Teeth With Fixed or Removable Dentures.

Tooth loss may result from periodontal disease (gum disease), tooth decay, or traumatic injury. It is very important to replace missing teeth. The ill-effects of not doing so can be a shift in remaining teeth, an inability to bite and chew properly, as well as a sagging facial appearance, which makes one appear older than they are.

We replace missing teeth with fixed and removable prosthesis. Missing teeth can be replaced with single tooth implants, Implant supported fixed prosthesis or conventional partial and complete dentures. Overall, this improves chewing efficiency, esthetics and your quality of life.

Root Canal Treatment

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form. This procedure is performed to save your natural teeth.

Pediatric Dental Treatment

As soon as your child’s first tooth appears, it’s time to schedule a dental visit. The ADA recommends that the first dental visit takes place within six months after the first tooth appears, but no later than a child’s first birthday. Don’t wait for them to start school or until there’s an emergency. Get your child comfortable today with good mouth healthy habits. The first visit is mainly for the dentist to examine your child’s mouth and to check growth and development, it’s also about your child being comfortable.
